David Jacobson

Written and performed by

David Jacobson consumes the caloric equivalent of 80,000 Big Macs every day. He lives in all the world's oceans except the Arctic. No, wait, sorry... that's Blue Whales.

Jacobson is a Portland-based writer/performer who's been doing multi-character solo theater for 18 years.

His previous shows -- Theme Park ("Hysterically funny.... creatively disturbed" -- SF Bay Guardian) and Dog's Misery Swamp ("An extraordinary display of intelligence and entertainment" - Theater in London) went to Fringe Festivals in the U.S. and Canada.

In other reviews, David's mom saw him perform at the Edmonton International Fringe Festival and raved: "I could see what you were trying to do there."

He comes to solo performance after decades as a newspaper reporter (Detroit News, Hartford Courant), magazine humorist (Esquire, Details, Business 2.0), and science writer (University of California).

In the Bay Area, he honed his chops at Solo Sundays, Monday Night Marsh, Tell It On Tuesday, Sunset Solos, and Oakland's fabled High Dive.

His latest one-person ensemble comedy -- "Murder on the Mission to Mars!" -- premieres in April at 21ten Theatre as part of Portland's city-wide festival of new works, Fertile Ground. In June, it lands at the Montreal Fringe Festival.
